Yes. At Black Diamond Removals, we’re covered by Marine Transit Insurance, Public Liability Insurance and comprehensive insurance on all our vehicles. Our Marine Transit Insurance offers cover against the risk of fire, flood and water damage, collision, overturning, theft, vandalism and non-delivery. We can also assist you with arranging additional insurance cover depending on your particular needs.

As drawers are not designed to be moved with heavy items inside, we recommend you remove these before your move takes place. We also suggest you empty your drawers of any breakables, valuables, or important documents. Clothing and lighter items can stay in your drawers to prevent them from rattling while on the road.

Yes, we ask you don’t include the following in your items to be moved with us.

• Flammable liquids: Petrol, lighter fluid, methylated spirits and some acids can become agitated on the road.
• Cleaning products: Bleach can emanate toxic fumes and react with other substances, potentially causing a fire or an explosion.
• Pesticides: These can be flammable and pose risks to our staff.
• Aerosol cans: Pressurised vessels can become compressed or burst in transit, causing damage, fire, or toxic fumes.
• Gas bottles: These can leak during transit.
• Ammunition and firearms: If you do need to move these items, make sure you keep them in a cool, air-conditioned vehicle separate from one another.
• Batteries: These can leak or break during transit.
• Identification documents and valuables: Make sure you keep these with you rather than in a box.
• Perishable foods and plants: These can deteriorate while on the road.
